(Bloody enough to be of mature content? I'm sceptic)
One of my first ever Photoshop-only digital artworks! I know it looks unfinished without a proper background but I would just have fucked it all up by adding a shitty background with my experience.
Been sittin' around for like two or three hours with this. Layers are a god damn pain to get into, so I skipped it, more or less.
A little practice-pic; A soldier (Sergeant? Don't remember the rank-thing, kinda just picked a rank out of nothing) wearing "Desert-Camo" gear is hit in the chest, or possibly the heart, I'm tired. Some mistakes and a little too smooth coloring on the clothíng, but hell I love the results Since I'm a extreme newbie with digital stuff only using my scrappy optical mouse I certainly got blew away by how easy this was to master, though it took some sweet time.
I might do some furry art now when I feel a little more confident with the colorings, just for the sake of doing a little updated pic of my character and everything.
Why didn't you add a Background? I think a black one would do perfectly
Besides, I like the anatomy and the pose Perhaps you could add some shades to the "sides" of his arms and chest, to make them more 3D...
I just think the background would look too scrappy since my ability for perspectives ain't the best, though I had intention to do an explosion a little further behind the houses or something, but I found the explosion to be a little hard to do as I got a bit too lazy.
And thanks, I'll think of the shading a little more next time around, I might scrap something down tommorow if I got the mood, but then I hope to do something Anthro Thanks for the comment'o!
YAY! It's sooooo great to see your artwork in digital style.
I must say that I admire how you make those shading.
Nice details and looks pretty realistic as usual.
Whoo, good to see some digital art from you. ^^ For a first try at the media, much kudos on the shading. Especially only with a mouse! There's a nice amount of detail and texturing here. As for crits... Did you use layers for the linework? If not, I'd advise that. It could generally use a bit more cleaning up - if you have the patience, I think Photoshop's pen tool is quite useful for going around that sort of thing in vector. The background's a touch confusing and looks abstract, too - if it's meant to be that way, maybe using a different colour to white as the base would help the overall tone. I think the visor here looks great, though; nice use of contrast.
It'd be great to see some furry-related stuff from you, too. ^_^
